^ Ironic you say that. Since the following review is positive.
Onto the review, I truly expected this episode to be the worst episode produced so far. An episode that would screw up the force as we know it. And thank fully, it didn't. The Son, Daughter and Father all remain mysterious characters in this episode and not much is said. So no canon screwing up here. The only minor one I can pick out is the fact that Obi-Wan couldn't communicate with spirits before the end of EPIII. But it could be because thats a vision.
Onto the episode, this episode is by far one of the more entertaining of the series, it holds its place with the Kamino ones, the mandalore plot ones and Rookies. It had a dark creepy/mysterious atmosphere to it and I actually wanted to continue to watch it and find out what happens, I was on the edge of my seat by the end (normally I feel relief at the end of the general CW episode). Which Is a good change for once compared to the common-place episode that is completely whimsical and stupid. I also want to give major kudos to Samuel Witwer who did a fantastic job as The Son in this. I guess you can count on the Old Guard of Lucas Arts to do the good stuff.
Overall, 4/5, one of the better episodes.

wow...anakin skywalker is a god??????... he can totally control life and death...but how calm in the movie he can't control padme's death??? confusing...

Amazing! Fireguy, Administrator, and anyone who has previously watched the episode, we can all agree that this episode steadily holds its place as one of the most stunning pieces of work produced yet on television. Of course, there are quite a few reasons as to why this episode succeeded in captivating us all, and I'm going to go over as many as possible! :D
We started off with a compelling introduction about a distress signal that had not been used in, apparently, 2000 years! Our trio, composed of Anakin as well as his padawan and former master, set off to discover the source of the code. But when they reach the destination, they are surprised to know that they do not appear on scanners! Quite an intriguing start! Then we catch sight of a Borg-like object that begins sucking the ship in like a sort of magnet. Do note that this is an incredibly done scene with great shots of our heroes struggling.
Now to the planet. How extraordinary! Not only were the graphics amazing and visually mind-blowing, but I loved the elements that were used. The fact that the seasons change as the day progresses, from Spring, to Summer, and well, you get the point. I also loved the new forms that the Son and Daughter took. The elements were used perfectly, especially during the last battle scene, which I'll get to later. One other thing I loved were the visions that each of our characters had. Liam Neeson reprised his role and gave a stunning, unfortunately brief, performance with an eerie message: Mortis was a trap. Anakin's vision about his mother was perhaps the creepiest, and she mentioned that Padme was a poisoner! My god, the end of the conversation creeped me out even more: Shmi burst into a terrifying creature and disappeared in a flash of lightning. But my favourite vision was Ahsoka's, which showed an incredible new character design of her in the future. She said that Ahsoka would never see her future if she stayed with Anakin, and that he planted seeds of the Dark Side in her. Creepy! This episode opened so many opportunities for new episodes that I can't count them all!
I'd also love to mention the theories about Anakin and him being the chosen one. The Son, Daughter, and Father had some interesting and peculiar thoughts on Anakin's future, and only time will tell whether any of these will come true. The Father wished Anakin to take his place, and Anakin quite obviously declined the request. But the world is so special that its hard to believe that Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Ahsoka are leaving it now. There are so many cool elements and I'm sure there'll be many more to explore in these next two episodes. Now we only have to figure out how Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Ahsoka will be drawn back to Mortis. Or did they ever actually make it out of the atmosphere? According to the preview at the end of the episode, we'll find that out plus many new revelations about Anakin next week!
Applause also goes to the Clone Wars crew for stunning visual effects, a great script with nicely-layered humor, an intense ending sequence, and of course topping the first episode of the previous trilogy, Nightsisters. Bravo, Lucasfilm! Bravo.
IGN Rating: 9/10
My Rating: 9.3/10 (Lives up to expectations!)
I just thought I'd mention that not a single episode rating of mine for the second half of season 3 has dipped below 9.2/10! Geez!

Wow, that was totally unexpected.
This was absolutely nothing like the previous episodes. LOVED IT!

I wonder if they will show any new episodes with Savage Oppress, and his teachings with Darth Maul. I realy want to see Darth Maul in The Clone Wars.
I think the episode was a bit short (although it was 22 min long, like all the other episodes). I don`t know realy how to explain it,it felt so short, i am not so good in explaining things.
But the episode was mysterious and Anakin is so cool in the end. The scene with Qui-Gon was great, short but great. I love Qui-Gon in the movie and the actor. The landscape and the colors where so great.
I didn`t understand that when Obi-Wan said that the planet was the force to Anakin when he was catched by the ``Daughter``. I mean, is it the origin of the force or what? Maybe someone can explain that to me if some one know.
I look forward to see what happends with Ahsoka and Anakin AND the whole saga. And i have to mention again that the episode was realy mysterious.
My rating 8.7/10

Mmm, hopefully this segment within the Clone Wars series won't be a "you must watch this to truly understand how he brings/not brings balance to the force". Personally I go by the films and films only, it keeps things short and simple. Don't get me wrong, I have followed stuff outside Lucas' creation, but its gotten to the point where Star Wars seems to be owned by the fans. Though it seems like a good thing, its actually a bad thing, which can be reflected by some of the dumbest things created in Star Wars lore...Such as Sith coming back and Jedi being wiped over and over so these close-minded fanboy writers can write about MORE lightsaber action. Yea Jedi/Sith/Dark Jedi/etc are the coolest thing in the lore but it isn't what makes Star Wars, which unfortunately many Star Wars Universe writers fail to understand. Don't get me wrong though, its still entertaining, but in a dumbed down way. As for the Clone War series, I really like it. Why? Because Lucas is there to manage it and make sure its not just about lightsabers... there are blasters too ;)

Some good new episode!I hope new one would be even better!

Anyone who wants to know about the next two Clone Wars episodes, Altar of Mortis and Ghosts of Mortis, read ahead.
Altar of Mortis looks to be the most exciting of the three episodes. Something, perhaps the Son, stops our three heroes from escaping Mortis through their ship. As they retry to escape the planet, Ahsoka is taken captive in an attempt to lure Anakin to the Dark Side. Anakin battles his way back to Ahsoka, only to find a shocking solution to his dilemma, while the Father desperately tries to maintain the balance between his children. An epic battle, or perhaps two, await all viewers at the end of the episode. Everyone will be excited to hear that this is the episode where Ahsoka supposedly turns to the Dark side.
Ghosts of Mortis follows the heroes' final attempt to escape Mortis. Not too much information has been given quite yet and we are still waiting to hear more, but I know that Anakin gains some disturbing insight into his own future, while Ahsoka and Obi-Wan prepare to combat the Dark Side.
Pretty cool, huh? I actually have quite a few reasons as to why Ahsoka will NOT turn completely to the Dark Side:
1. Ahsoka is fine in Ghosts of Mortis, and the battle she has with Anakin occurs in Altar of Mortis, so she's purified from whatever spell was on her.
2. Remember how the Son and Daughter can take different forms? Well, Ahsoka's evil form may actually be the Son. After all, he's captured her and could quite easily become Ahsoka. Anakin might not be fighting the real Ahsoka at all. He might strike down the Son, be all upset cause he thinks he's killed his padawan, and then Obi-Wan breaks her free. Of course, it is unlikely that everything that I've said will happen.

This is One of my favourite Episodes.
I haved an Idea about Ahsoka's vision:do her die in some of the next episodes?

Hello everyone,
I StarWars1fan1, will from now on begin reviewing the episodes, to compete with anonymous for best review of the week:
At first I have to say this episode blew me away, literally. This is definitely my favorite episode yet (which is something big because I haven't had any favorite since "Landing at Point Rain".
Overlords has it all, action, suspense, and a great plot.
The beginning was a perfect hook, eerie jedi distress code not used in 200o years, trio of ahsoka, anakin, and obi-wan! Not to forget the heavily armed republic cruiser with rex on board that was to rendezvous with them near Mortis! WOW! But I must I was disappointed when I found out that they didn't mett with the Jedi. I think the episode would have so much awesome if the jedi cruiser accompanied them inside Mortis. But, not meeting with them created an eerie atmosphere that kept me hooked. As Mortis began began to pull the jedi in, I began to beg them to turn around, lol :D. The inside was even stranger, no animals, and change of seasons every day! The suspense continued to build when anakin was seperated from his padawan and former master. Then, when ahsoka and Obi Wan returned to where they landed, they discovered the ship was gone! The atmosphere was getting scarier by the second. Just then, darkness fell and the plants began to die. Ahsoka and Obi Wan turned to see son standing behind them...Then, for the first time, we saw Ahsoka with her dual saber activated, and I must say, she looked BEAST!!!!
I can't wait to see her in action. Shortly after, while hiding with Ahsoka in a cave, Obi Wan saw qui gonn jinn, as a vision. Liam Neeson's voicing was incredible, and mixed with a bit of Duel of the Fates, I was crying! We got to see adult Ahsoka, and she looked and awful lot like Shaak ti. Anakin got to see his mom, but she really was son, and boy was he creepy. It was shocking when father held anakin's saber in his hand, and the end was mind blowing. Anakin was incredible, taking on daughter and son at the same time, using only the force!
Voice acting: 9.8/10
Plot: 10/10
Suspense: Way over 10
Graphics: 9.7/10 (Probably the best graphics of the Clone Wars yet.)
Action: 8/10
OVERALL: 9.7/10 WOW
I am dying to see the next two episodes of this arc.
P.s. Sooooo shocked to see that fireguy liked it!!!!!

What do you think will happen to Ahsoka in alter of mortis. Please feel free to comment on this question!
4 February 2011 at 15:46
Lord Mysterio,
Ahsoka will be back to normal, and that's a fact. I do have some proof, and I am very excited to tell it to you all.
First of all, in the new trailer that everyone is calling the "Dark Ahsoka" trailer, she is seen in some definite scenes where she is fine. They have not occured yet and therefore they will happen after Altar Of Mortis, and she is fine.
Lastly, the summary of Ghosts of Mortis from Star Wars Insider says that Ahsoka is assisting Obi-Wan and Anakin in escaping from Mortis. But in this episode she battles the two. For anyone who didn't know, Ahsoka will take on both Obi-Wan and Anakin tonight, and from the looks of it in the clips of the CN preview, she is pwning them both. So somethings wrong here, with both facts. This means that Ahsoka is cured by the end of this episode/ beginning of the next. And by the way, Ahsoka should NOT be pwning them. If anything, she should be begging Anakin for mercy. Not trying to be rude to any hardcore Ahsoka fans, but she just doesn't have the power.
Anywho, can't wait! Unfortunately I'll have to wait for the episode to be uploaded here, as I live in Canada and our network, Teletoon, is behind a week. So this is why I love the website: everything we here in Canada don't get, the Administrator and crew provide us. You rock, CloneWarsOnlineTV!

Administrator,
If you're looking for a Megavideo link for Altar of Mortis, I've found one. Here it is:

I am really sorry for the episode to be so late. It won't happen again, I promise.
7 February 2011 at 19:10
LOL its funny at the end. The father's all like "Which one will you save? Your apprentice or your master?" and Anakin's just like, "Aw just let them fucking go you hobo!" and then the father's just like, "Choose who to save and let the other die!" Anakin is like, "FUCK YOU!!!!" and then he just wastes the "son" and "daughter" despite Obi-Wan telling him to go help Ahsoka.
9 February 2011 at 11:38
Does anyone know will be there a episode where Darth Maul teaches Savage Opress the way of the dark side!
