I dont believe it, well I first thought this episode was going to be like hellspawn with a side of retardedness. I really thought they would screw up Tarkin, but they didn't. They actually did a relatively good job. Also, this has to be the first episode in AGES that actually features Clones... I mean, it is THE CLONE WARS. Right, down to the meat of the review.

Right, the beginning of this episode bugged me, and made me think I was in for watching a shit fest, this Carbonite freezing thing is really dodgy in continuity with EPVI and EPV. First off, I remember Vader in EPV clearly saying Han Solo was a test to see if Carbon freezing people would work without killing them. Why the hell did he need to test it, if he knew it worked, and because he used IT ON HIMSELF.

Right, thats error number 1 out of the way, lets get error number 2 of the way. Error number 2 is that when they are released from the Carbonite, they dont have the effects of Carbon sickness AT ALL. Obi-Wan mentions it, but thats it, no signs of it. I know it could be argued that their Jedi so they can avoid it with the force, but what about the clones? they should be blind or something from the Carbon sickness.

Now that thats out of the way, heres the other stuff. The story was relatively interesting, I dont get whats up with the importance of the Nexus route, but ok, it will probably be explained and expanded on in the future (probably, its likely it will be missed though knowing Filoni).

I think the coolest part about this episode is the abundance of my favourite type of droid, the Commando droid, something that always seems to perform feats of pwnage and epicness when on screen. These special commando droids (Commando commando droids lol?) where even cooler and seemed to me to have features from the experimental B3 super battle droid in them. Now all we need is Cortosis battle droids and we have something really epic.

Tarkin was portrayed generally well, his clashing with his superiors is reminiscent of him in the films/EU. So all clear there, he didn't talk much though, or really do much at all. But thats excused since the end of the episode leaves a clear hint another episode with more of him in it. I was pretty sure he was stationed at Eriadu though, but thats not really anything major since he can be moved easily and hes only known to be there near the end.

Right, to finish off, fairly good episode, I liked it. Animation seemed to improve along with render quality (anyone else notice this?). The citadel was engaging overall.

Rating: 7/10
Enjoyable, worth a watch, not incredible, but never the less, good. Hope to see the next one live up to this one. Overall, averagely good, but in comparison to most of the shit CW churns out, this is pretty good.

Anyway, really enjoyed this episode, had lots of great plot twists and the "Citadel" prison seems to have an intriguing backstory, as apparently it hasn't been broken into ever before. My full review will come tomorrow and perhaps I'll start using the name "2SecondReviews". What d'ya think? I might also just stay as the Anonymous Reviewer, so of course I have a descision to make. Hmm...

Well, this is a grat episode.
You get many Classic Star Wars Elements inside.
1.Captain Tarkin,later Admiral Tarkin,Will be The guy that dies saying these words: "Retreat?On the moment of the victory?Never!" on the Death Star.
2. Carbonization. Han will be Carbonized in episode V by Darth Vader,or Anakin.
There's only one mistake: when Han been carbonized,he was the first to do that.
3.The Scan.There was the big chance to not pass it but luckily they done so.
In Episode VI the protagounists passes an Imperial blockade.
Then There are other news in this episode:
1.ARC armor - Finally We've got a shape of it. Echo and Fives wears the same tipe of armor like Colt's.
2.212th legion-Cody and two his men returns.

Good episode.this one had allot of action and clones. may the reason they aren't blind is to explain. Don't forget han solo was 1 year in carbonite and they only for a few minutes and may lando doesn't know the did carbonite freezing before. may the people of cloud city didn't had the the oppertunitie to friezing someone before. lol of course dave filoni screwed canon up again. :o

i love that the arc's are back echo and fives are good soldiers they have fought good back in the outpost now with the citadel they take an chance of dieing but they know what they do and still they were commanded you know that echo is always thinking of hevy because he didnt changed his armor plate it has still rexes hand on it he wanna have a part of hevy in the battles so i think this deserves a good and well deserved 10/10

This was a fairly good episode even with the mortis trilogy setting the bar so high for the next episode.Like mentioned on some of the reviews they messed up canon with the carbonite freezing.I didn't think this episode was as good as the mortis trilogy.here are the pros and cons.

Fives and echo are back!
Great looking prison!
pretty decent story line.

The converstions didn't feel right in the citadel.

**NOTE: This is a two-part review.**

I thoroughly apologize for such a late review this week. Fireguy's just banging out reviews like there's no tomorrow and I just haven't gotten around to writing a full review. I truthfully didn't want to leave all of my thoughts in that tiny paragraph I wrote above in the comments. So here is the full review, 4 days late. I promise that it'll be much sooner next week. I am so sorry for not being able to fufill my promise.

It would be quite an understatement to say that I "enjoyed" this episode. I thought it was fantastic: enough action to satisfy fans layered with a thickening plot. We are still left to ponder what the basic principles and uses for the "Nexus" route are. I am starting to think that the Nexus route is what the Separatists used to attack Coruscant at the beginning of RotS and the original Clone Wars mini-series. Still, if the Nexus route is indeed what Grievous used to attack the home planet, then why are we talking about it now as supposed to the last season or whatnot? I still wonder this. It's a possibility that the Separatists, led at the Citadel by Osi Sobeck, don't get a hold of the Nexus co-ordinate data during this trilogy of episodes, but I still wonder why we are talking about it way before the attack on Coruscant. Hmm...

In terms of cons, there weren't many. I do share the same feelings as Fireguy in this area, because Han Solo was indeed tested in Empire to see if he would come out alive from the freezing chamber. Of course, if Anakin did it here, then he would know the outcome, wouldn't he? I've been reading up on StarWars.com and Wookieepedia and it turns out that carbonite Freezing has a 70% to 92% chance of survival of a human. Fireguy, I also have a solution to your other error which involves the carbon sickness. You see, six months passed between Empire and Jedi, so Han was in carbonite for at least that long. He was affected by blindness and a couple other effects due to the time frame. These guys were only in carbonite for, say, a couple hours and, at maximum, a day.

Even Piell and Captain Tarkin were both great new additions to the Clone Wars characters, but I paid a lot more attention to Tarkin than to Piell. Its a pity that everyone knew about Tarkin in the Clone Wars, because I can't imagine how many fans would've screamed in amazement at the fact that a great and symbolic character would be coming to the Clone Wars. His voice acting was alright, not the best, but still good. I like his penchant to argue with leaders, because as all well know, he was the only one able to control Vader aside from the Emperor. Piell was voiced well, too, and he seemed wise with a voice like that. Obi Sobeck was great as well, and I hope that we get more great new villains introduced like this later on.

The voice acting was very superb, and I very much liked James Arnold Taylor's portrayal of Osi Sobeck, even though the style was overly goofy. Matt Lanter was also great and you could definitely tell that Anakin was in pain while being magnetically electrocuted. Ouch! He amazingly played the most comical scene yet we've seen, where Ahsoka got out of the carbonite and said, "Hey master," and he greeted her back, only to look back at her with uncertainty. Speaking of our feminine heroine, I loved her portrayal here as an exact copy of what Anakin would have done when he was Obi-Wan's Padawan. Ashley Eckstien was great once again and I hope she can produce more, shall I daresay, "awesomeness" later on in the series. Great job from the cast altogether.

The action was very high paced. We got a hint at what was to come in the Nightsisters trilogy, took a break from action-packed episodes during the Mortis ark (which actually proved better than the Nightsisters ark), and now we truly see how far everything has come. I couldn't take my eyes of the screen. The designs for Sobeck's elite commandos were incredible as well, and I'm sure they painfully reminded Echo and Fives of the incident on the Rishi Moon. Damn it, these guys must be a clone's worst sight, aside from a Sith or droideka. The magnetizing scene was great and took a very Matrix-like style, with everything slowed down and the movements of our heroes more accurate (mind you, they got their butts kicked as well).

Finally, I come to the fluid animation, which truly is amazing. It is lovely, magnificent, whatever, but I can't stop praising the crew. Lola Sayu is perhaps the coolest planet design yet (obviously except for Mortis), and the intense volcanos and wildlife in the background was great. The Citadel was also a cool looking prison and the infiltration has inproved so much since our last little secret mission into a Separatist facility in season 1's Duel of the Droids. I bet anyone a billion dollars that Joel Aron worked SO hard on this episode, because the effects were just awesome. And if this is only the third of six seasons, then imagine what the animation is gonna be like in the series finale.

@Fireguy, I presume it has something to do with the time that they are frozen, Solo being frozen for a year. I'm not too sure about Vader having to test the process in episode five either, but I presume he is being overly cautious when it comes to trying to freeze Luke, maybe he doesn't trust the technology on bespin? Either way, yeah they are kinda dumb, but not that big a deal :>
