Really, really good! Following the plot of Heroes on Both Sides, the political battle continues to stop the production of 5 million new clone troopers. The action scenes were terrific and scary, not to mention exciting. Robonino and Chata Hyoki worked really well together, defeating Senator Farr and Senator Organa, as well as nearly getting Padme arrested. The only conflict I had with this episode was that Mina Bonteri had been murdered by Republic troops. I knew that Dooku was lying, but it turned out that she actually had died, at the hands of Dooku's thugs. This now makes Lux an orphan, and it didn't say anything about him knowing who killed his mother. This was a small part of the episode and I'm not sure it was neccissary, but it did give the episode the bump it needed to become more exciting. Who knows? Maybe Lux and Ahsoka will meet again down the road, and I'm excited for that.
IGN Rating: 6.5/10 (Oh my god, IGN! You rate things way too low!)
My Rating: 9.1/10

great political ep can't wait for next ep to come

Lacking in action; as the last few episodes were.

So Onaconda Farr did not die then? Or is this set before he dies?
6 December 2010 at 15:52
Yes, Onaconda did die. Heroes on Both Sides as well as this episode were set before Senate Murders in Season 2. I guess that they felt as though Farr was too cool a character to get rid of for long.

Hey guys! Your reviewer here. Just a little update for all of the Season 3 fans out there, the exclusive screenings for episodes 12 (Nightsisters), 13 (Monster) and 14 (Witches of the Mist) are all over. Everyone is saying that these episodes are awesome and are just the thing this season needs to get it back on track. I acknowledge the complaints that there have been way too many political-based storylines, even though a few have been strong (Supply Lines, Heroes on Both Sides, Pursuit of Peace, etc.). There have been way too few lightsaber battles as well, and the idea of droids being kidnapped while looking for "jogan" fruit for a cake? Questionable.
But there have also been a lot of praise given to the writer of this Savage Opress trilogy, Katie Lucas, and the entire Clone Wars team. In fact, Director Dave Filoni stated that not a single scene in the second half of Season 3 takes place in the Senate building. One more update. The fans that attended the screenings were shown a trailer for the second half of Season 3. Although I haven't seen it myself, there were tons of brand new and exciting scenes shown. Everyone is talking about the end of the trailer, where a furious Ahsoka is shown attacking Anakin. WOAH! Looks like Season 3 might just turn out to be the season we expected.

Here's another update from your's truly. After all the positive feedback, episodes 12, 13, and 14 of season 3 are rumored to be the best episodes yet. Everyone is saying that the previous episodes of season 3 were crummy, so these episodes are just what the Clone Wars needs. Although I don't agree with all of the criticism, and quite a few of the political-based episodes were strong, I do admit that 8 out of 11 episodes can get a little out of hand, don't you think? Now, before you continue reading, there is a massive spoiler warning that could ruin the whole surprise of the Clone Wars' Savage Opress trilogy ending. If you would like to know an awesome secret that I found on another blog, read ahead.
Apparently, at the end of these three episodes, there is a massive three-way fight between Savage, Ventress, and Dooku. Savage is for some reason wanting revenge on Dooku (Hmm, sound familiar?). Savage returns to Dathomir (I don't know what happens to Ventress, so you still have a surprise) and the Nightsisters after being injured in the fight. There, he is told that there is a brother of his who is living in the outer rim. He is just the thing Savage needs to help him defeat Dooku. He is a red and black Zabrak warrior. He is... Darth Maul.

Why does everyone think this is good? this is a terrible episode. I know its political and etc, so people are saying too cut it some slack. But seriously, this breaks multiple rules of pre-established star wars history. Lets begin the review... WHY ARE THE FUCKING BANKING CLAN NOT ON THE SEPARATISTS SIDE? I was annoyed when Filoni decided too take the trade federation off just for his benefit, but now the banking clan too? really?. So now hes trying too tell us that the battle of muunilist was fought for no reason at all.
Nice job screwing more shit up Filoni, you really do a good job. Its just ridiculous how he is changing all the major factions sides for the sake of fueling his poorly told, crappy story. I hope he stops doing this in future episodes. Then we move onto the political references. The minute I heard Padme start going on about Health care bills, I instantly knew that Mr. Filoni wanted too broadcast some subliminal political message... And he horribly failed.
Overall, this is one of the many bad episodes of this series, so far Ive only enjoyed a few. But seirously, this is just sad.

Fireguy,
Seriously? Like, give Filoni a break already. He's worked hard to make these episodes come alive. If it was just battle here, battle there type stuff then it wouldn't feel like actual star wars. And look at the visuals: they're stunning! There was lots to enjoy here, even though the speeder bike chase was a little dull. This episode had us relate to real life more, with health care and power for homes mentioned in Padme's speech.
So, just relax. Filoni (You may hate him, but he's doing a great job) has already promised that the second half of season 3 is much more action-heavy. You're free to express your opinion, but I'm not sure that your comment was the right way to go about it.
*Holy ----! This is my fifth comment on the episode!*

Seriously?
Im actually even less of a fan of the action heavy episodes, those are even worse. Ive been a Star Wars fan for a very long time and I own countless SW books and expanded universe material. The Clone Wars not only continues too mess up previously established information in the saga. It also fails too live up to the standards of the original cartoon clone wars series, which did a lot better.
Im fine with small canon issues, but when it comes down too Filoni breaking things that have even been said in the films, it starts too get ridiculous. It is even mentioned and shown in the films that the banking clan is with the separatists, and it is shown the republic know they are with the separatists. Same goes for the Trade Federation.
These episodes are mainly just babbling about things that have been covered in so many other sources its ridiculous, you would be surprised how uncreative Filoni is if you knew more of SWs backstory. These episodes become far more bland each day. The only episodes that managed too entertain me where all of the Mandalore plot ones, Rookies, and all of the Kamino ones.
Those did things I actually cared about, and the Kamino episodes had characters I actually gave a shit about because there was more character development. Something Filoni fails too do. I still have to go back and watch the original cartoon Clone Wars and the films quite a bit too remind myself star wars wasn't always terrible like it was when this CG clone wars came along.

Isn't Techlya from Episode I?
15 February 2011 at 16:10
So, wait, this was set before 'Senate Murders' in Season 2? The episode is a prequel? That's why Onaconda Farr is alive in this? So what clue did we have the series is jumping back in time? Has it done this before? How are we meant to know this? Its hard enough keeping track of all the little changes going on in the canon without the inexplicable time travel in the narrative.
Sounds like they simply forgot they killed Senator Farr off in the last season. Seems to me the only clue it is a prequel is that the Rhodian's still alive, nothing else places it in the time line of the series. And for a series that seems to go out of its way to make things understandable and accessible this seems damn sloppy, or careless.

I laughed when Bail said, "This is good," and at the tone of Senator Amidala's voice when she said, "It is?" LOL

I could kind of tell Chancellor Palpatine is Darth Sidious by the way he and that wirdo spoke at the end.
