Okay, i dont want to start a war on this episode again, but Filoni screwed up, Master Piell wasnt suppose to die until 19BBY in the battle of Courasant, so there is a flaw, also i am very happy with this episode, it was awesome, except the mis-understanding, i really liked Tarkin in this series! He and Anakians relationship was quite, let me say 'interesting'. A whole Battalion sent to rescue Anakian and Obi-Wan, i think that was resonible, The way they honoured Master Piell was so shocking, it made me cry, I think that over all a great episode, i will post the rest ofthis review on my alternative channel! Over all 9.0/10  High5PicProductions ( I do not mean to start a war)

Even if some may disagree with me, I think that Echo's and Master Peil's death were necessary to emphasis the contrast between honorable men (like them) and cowards (like Tarkin).

I liked Master Piell, but I didn't cry. I agree with IGN's review that they should have introduced the Jedi before this storyline so that his death would have been more emotive.

Missa loved Tarkin in this Trilogy!! I actually want to rewatch the original Star Wars trilogy again!!

WOW! Boy was that fun to watch! I am SO pleased with Filoni and the crew for making this splendid piece of work. The only flaw, as mentioned before, was Master Piell's death, which Filoni tried to cover up in the Citadel Rescue episode guide. He said that this was the "actual" time of Master Piell's death, but IDK. Anywho, I can't post a full review (as always) right now but I will say that I really enjoyed the ep and cannot wait for the season finale. But onto that, there is a catch. There is a THREE WEEK BREAK before we get the final two episodes in a one hour special. Damn! But I'm still happy with what we have for the next few weeks. Full review will come later during March break, hopefully this weekend.

Piell doesn't die until order 66, thank you Filoni for going right ahead and screwing up a character that I think you can actually see in the background of EPIII. Im actually rather worried now, Filoni is getting way to much canon freedom and hes moved onto the point where he defies canon directly from the films.

Right onto the review.

Once again, I want to commend these recent episodes, The Citadel, Counterattack and Citadel Escape have all been a good run, and im rather fond of the planet its set on, I personally think they should have used a planet called Pammant from the EU since its basically exactly like this one. Anyway, onto the thingy.

CGI seemed to improve again (am I the only one still noticing this?) the textures and animation in general just looked better and so did the environments. Once again, im particularly fond of the planet and I do love how you can see the asteroid field in the sky, might have to have a shot at something similar in my next SW film.

Commando droids are back again, I think their beginning to be slightly over-used but I guess it is a highly secure prison thing so it makes sense, as long as I get my fair bit of commando droid pwnage im perfectly fine with them being everywhere :D

Crab droids also seem to play a rather prominent roll and I lol'd at the amount of them at the end when the gunship takes off and escapes. I found it randomly humorous for some reason I dont know. The action has greatly improved in this latest trilogy. It used to be rather wooden and cold but now it seems a lot more like its predecessor created by Tartovsky and his team in the original clone wars. Every things faster paced and has more tension to it now.

Tarkins character was once again done well, Im actually glad they used him now since they didn't damage his character in anyway and instead made him look quite a bit cooler, good to see the future grand moff shooting at a couple of commando droids in that last sequence.

Is it just me or is CWs number 1 way of killing bad guys via stabbing them through the chest with a lightsaber. Gosh its been done quite a few times now lol, next time I hope to see some hacking with the lightsaber, but this stuff goes on cartoon network so I shouldn't be to hopeful about seeing something like that.

Even Piell dying is the only thing that really bugged me in this episode, hes not meant to die, hes clearly depicted in other EU works and I think he even appears in the background of EPIII and I remember him in the original Clone Wars series appearing a day or so before the battle of Coruscant. So Filoni once again, fucked up canon.

Right, to conclude, the Citadel trilogy has been a good run and I hope its the start of a revolution for the Clone Wars episodes, but then again, I believed this before with other good episodes and it didn't happen. The new upcoming episode also looks scarily shit. So Im saddened to see my good reviews may be coming to halt around now until something else cool pops up, but, yuh never know.

Great stuff, worth the watch along with the rest of the Citadel episodes.

And to those still bitching and exaggerating about Echos death, please STFU. Its just annoying, obnoxious and childish now. Im seeing some rather unnervingly obsessive comments about his death that make me question the age/maturity of some of the people on here :/

BTW, Filoni, do us all a favour and kill Ashoka some time will you. You would seriously gain a massive amount of new viewers for the series since she's the most hated character on the show by me and a lot of other Star Wars fans.

To be honest, I actually like the 'newer' Ahsoka. Sure, the old son of a bitch was a bit obnoxious, but eh, I've gotten used to it. I just wish they would change Anakin Skywalker's voice actor, as he doesn't resemble Hayden Christianson in any way at all.

On to the episode, I though this was ridiculous. Even Piell wasn't supposed to die until after Order 66, during the Great Jedi Purge. He was killed by Vader and a platoon of Stormtroopers. However, the those who run the entire Clone Wars crew obviously have absolutely no respect for EU, and can't even make a god forsaken episode without screwing up the entire Star Wars canon.

Well,now we get Saeese Tiin for the first time in a battle.
Wolffe returns as a backround character with Comet.
I don't like very much this episode because Fives isn't always saw(When they arrive at the randevou point he isn't shown).

And finally we get also Vader's theme at the end on Coruscant and we get an admiral assigned to Plo Koon.

I really enjoyed this episode, i feel that they killed off all the less important people, like the 212th troopers and the bridge officers, i find that thats all they do, kill them, not anyone else. I also found that that Master Piell was not suppose to die until Order 66. I did start to see the relationship grow between Anakian and Captain Tarkin. At the end he said "He would 'mention' him to the chancellor", i found that suspicious bcause of what happens in the future, rest of my review will be posted later.

High5, they don't kill the important characters because most of them die on the Return of the sith or the Original trilogy. Also, I agree with Fireguy about the CGI improvement - the "anoobas" scenes were amazing!

Ok, here is how Master Piell really died: ( I quote from wookieepedia)
Several months after the Great Jedi Purge had begun, Piell was somehow located by the Empire, and teams of stormtroopers pursued him in Coruscant's deepest slums. Sensing them through the Force, he attempted to hide in what was once a spice den, but in doing so, he had allowed himself to be cornered. Piell tried to escape via a tube, through which an elevator once traveled, though he had to use the Force in order to push himself upwards. The stormtroopers entered the building just as he entered the tube, and began firing at it; too late, Piell realized their tactics. They fired above and below where he was, melting the tube and fusing the two sides together to create an impassable mass, leaving Piell trapped. Using his lightsaber, he was able to free himself from the tube, though he was still effectively trapped; the five troopers had blocked the only exit, and Piell knew that his weeks on the run, with little food or rest, had left him far from peak fighting condition.[2]

Piell deflected everything the Imperials fired at him, but he was unable to escape. Knowing it was a risky tactic which the stormtroopers might have witnessed before, he Force Jumped over the troopers and towards the exit, and his attempt was almost successful. However, one of the troopers detonated a flash grenade, leaving Piell temporarily blind, while the troopers' helmets made them immune to the grenade's effects. Piell was still able to use the Force to deflect blaster bolts and make his way toward the door, but again, the clones were one step ahead of him. The stormtroopers never got the chance to finish off the Jedi Master, as a group of Whiplash rebels ambushed them from the other side of the exit, injuring several of them and forcing the troopers to flee. Piell recognized one of the rebels as Nick Rostu, a friend of the Jedi Order, and beckoned him to listen to his final request. Despite Rostu's comments, the Lannik Jedi knew he would die within minutes; he told Rostu about 4-TO and his mission, asking him to locate Jax Pavan—who Piell knew was still alive—and have him complete the mission. Rostu agreed, and Piell died.[2]

Important: I have just discovered that Even Peill's death was not canon, it appears Wookipedia is wrong, as they have recently released a statement I found: "No published material has yet revealed Piell's fate." So, I guess that even piell did not die in 19BBY, but in this episode.

Hey was it just me or did anyone else notice the other big mistake they had in the last part of the citadel. In the second part they had one of R2's droids blows up when a canon fired upon it and two of the troopers. It wasn't the captain droid but one of the others. But look at the third part, all three of R2's droids are back but it really doesn't matter because they all die anyway. I just think it's funny that they could make a goof that big, but yes Master Even Peill' death was an even bigger screw up. And it a even harder keeping track of all of those bridge officers. But the only two to survive are one of the ones with the dark uniform with the Republic symbol on the chest, and the other one is the one in the bridge officers uniform with the headset on. Funny thing is when Obiwon's group was in the line up the bridge officer with the headset and the one without it wasn't in the line up, but they are back with the group when they go to the shuttle.

Alright people, all these random anons are quite obviously clone commander hawk over and over again posing as different people. Hello all, once again. As a result of the compliments I got for my last review, I'll stick with the method of the review for this one. And for the LAST TIME, I am incredibly sorry for a late review this week. It seems that writing reviews gets a lot more tiresome with every one. I'm gonna keep doing reviews for perhaps until the end of season three, but after that, I might just have to stop. :( Nevertheless, I consider the following as my best review yet:

Congrats to the Clone Wars producers! They stuck with the Citadel for three episodes and didn't disappoint with the finale of the ark. Everything seemed so smooth and edited and I believe that this was the real deal. Action, animation, sound effects, voice acting... I could go on forever. So concluding the ark was perhaps disappointing, as I definitely enjoyed it, but if it had to come to an end, Citadel Rescue was the best possible way.

To start off, I think that the story didn't really improve all that much. Sure, we had some more awesome dialogue between Tarkin and Anakin, but it was more like AWESOME action, backstage story plot. We missed a couple of key elements that could've been used, such as a background story for Osi Sobeck or why Tarkin was with Piell when he was supposed to be govenor of Eriadu. I dunno. However, we got a really sweet ending that definitely felt like it made up for all of the flaws. Ahsoka became a dark hero, following in Anakin's footsteps as she brutally stabbed Sobeck through the chest. Tarkin's following comment, "I see you've trained her well", was very cool and you could tell he knew how destructive Anakin could be. Then we saw that Tarkin only wished to tell the Chancellor the Nexus Route coordinates, while Ahsoka remained determined to reveal her half only to the Jedi Council. This leaves a large possibility that Piell might have noticed Tarkin's close alliegance to the Chancellor, and maybe the Jedi Master had sensed something was wrong with Palpatine. Perhaps he purposely told Ahsoka to give the coordinates only to the Jedi Council in the case that Palpatine showed everyone that he was evil and used those routes for whatnot. Again, just a theory. This also makes up for the use of the Nexus Routes in the series so long before the invasion of Coruscant. These clear ups leave this section with a 9/10.

**Part 2 of 2SecondReviews' Citadel Rescue Review begins now**

Voice acting was once again very professional. Matt Lanter portayed Anakin, as always, like a quick-to-react kind of guy who still has those connections to people that he definitely shouldn't have. Regardless, and although it wasn't anything special, I enjoyed his voice performance a lot. James Arnold Taylor, as I mentioned last week, did a great job playing all three of his roles. His vocal range is astounding: even though I'm sure sound editing did quite a bit in his favor, I still am mind-blown by the fact that Osi Sobeck, who has a very scratchy voice, can become smooth-voiced Obi-Wan. I loved Sobeck's line, "If I can't have the information, then it will die with you!" A round of applause for the Clone Wars cast and crew. Blair Bless did a great job displaying Piell's last moments (thoughts on his death later in the review!), and Stephen Stanton, who doesn't appear on the show that often, was fantastic at portraying stubborn Captain Tarkin. Ashley Eckstien = awesome as well! Voice acting gets a 10/10.

Action was definitely delivered this week. Every moment you turned, every commercial break there was... you just had your heart pounded deep in your chest, desperately awaiting more spectacle to appear. The producers didn't disappoint, not only with the frequency, but with the quality of the action. The annoba tracking beasts were SO cool and the design concepts were spectacular: like a sort of cross between a dog and a tiger, mixed with pitch black and violet colors. The ending was great and the amount of crab droids on the little island was astounding as the Master Plo Koon's gunship took off. There were also what like like to call "little bits" of the ep that stood out as really cool: an example is when Fives shot Sobeck down, another when Ahsoka stabbed him through the back. But my favourite moment had to be Master Even Piell's funeral. SO sad, I litterally buried my face in my elbows, even if I didn't cry. That's what I call effort into a death scene. Action, this week, gets an 11/10 (yeah, yeah, its not a proper rating, blah blah blah LOL).

Now for the cons. I honestly only have one, and I'm not joking. It was the fact that Piell died. He shouldn't have, regardless of the fact that Wookiepedia has deemed the series non-canon until it has finished. His death scene was well done, but frankly, it shouldn't have happened. He also, I am sure, has probably endured more than just being tossed around like a chew toy by a dog. I may be wrong, and if I am, feel free to correct me. I dunno, as I don't read TOO many Star Wars novels, but whatever. This con takes a 0.4 off of my rating.

I do a little bit just asking. also when I wrote this anonymous was the comment above me before that you where calling fireguy and High5 ******** also fireguy does a good think for these episodes to give some arguments. wishing someone dead isn't very peacefull. Hey, this is to the guy who does his review over the series. did you notice the R2's droid coming back in part 3. I've talked to a couple friends and some other people and they're telling me that I'm wachoo. They said it was a crate or barrel that got shot in part two, but I've made them watch it two times and I've paused it and pointed it out. But if you were to confirm it they would probably believe you, so if you can watch part two and three of the Citadel and confirm the error that was so obviously made.
